Hervey Bay Whale Festival

Hervey Bay's wintertime whale festival is the Fraser Coast's equivalent of Christmas in July. The Hervey Bay Whale Festival gives humpback whales a warm greeting as they begin to arrive at the world's first Whale Heritage Site. The festival, which is held in a number of locales, highlights our special bond with these gentle giants through kid-friendly art exhibits, workshops, music, food, and other activities.

Fraser Coast Flavours

Food n Groove Fridays
When: Returning in October.
Food n Groove Fridays creates the perfect Friday afternoon atmosphere with an excellent spread of food trucks, entertainment, market stalls and licensed bar.
Held on the first Friday of each month from October until February, Food n Groove Fridays takes place at City Park from 4pm. BYO chairs and picnic blankets, no pets, fully licensed - no BYO alcohol.

Sounds of Rock Hervey Bay

The Sounds of Rock Music Festival is coming to Hervey Bay's Seafront Oval on Saturday, 2nd November 2024! This 18+ event will feature a star-studded lineup including Leo Sayer, Daryl Braithwaite, Kate Ceberano, Killing Heidi, Chocolate Starfish, Bachelor Girl, and The Radiators. Don't forget to bring a camp chair for this epic rock experience!

Hervey Bay 100/50 & Barge2Beach
When: 16-17 November 2024.
The Beach House Hotel Hervey Bay 100 is a challenging long-course triathlon that unfolds along the picturesque foreshore of Hervey Bay. Participants will tackle a 2km swim, 80km bike ride and 18km run, all organized by the Hervey Bay Triathlon Club. For the first time in 2023, a full field of athletes will race the HitFM 50 (1km swim, 40km bike ride and 9km run) on the Saturday of Hundy weekend. On the same Saturday, don't miss the Barge2Beach ocean swimming event, offering a unique aquatic experience. It's an ideal opportunity to embrace athletic challenges while enjoying the natural beauty of Hervey Bay.

Relish Food & Wine Festival

Mary Poppins Festival

The Fraser Coast's most magical celebration, the Mary Poppins Festival, takes place every year in Maryborough's Portside Precinct. As the heritage-rich streetscapes come to life with all the characters you know and love from Mary Poppins, along with other new and old faces, celebrate the art of storytelling and learn more about the world's most beloved nanny.
Come to this four-day, FREE event to celebrate all things Mary Poppins!
Events include: Chimney Sweeping, Nanny Races and the Grand Parade and Admiral Boom firing his cannon, plus street food vendors, market stalls, rides, pavement art and live entertainment.
