COVID-19 Update

To our valued guests 

Even though it appears the COVID-19 threat has lessened for us in Queensland we still are taking every precaution to keep you and our staff safe.

As we take the COVID-19 threat seriously, we have put several new measures in place to ensure the health and safety of our occupants, staff and other visitors. If you have ANY questions or concerns, we welcome any calls or emails to help in any way that we can as its during times like these that the service and hospitality we pride ourselves on is more important than ever.

The Good News!

As we value your business and as some travel plans may still need to change as cases grow in other states, we have been refunding, and will continue to refund any deposits that have been paid for cancelled bookings resulting from COVID-19 related issues.  Alternatively, we can move your holiday booking to another future date if that would suit you better. If you have booked through one of the online travel agents such as booking.com, expedia.com etc., please cancel the booking through their website and then contact us so we can provide the refund if we have received payment.

Our pool, outdoor spa and BBQ area are now open. The gym is also open with a limit of 2 guests at a time.  A contact sheet and instructions for a COVID safe environment are supplied. We ask that you complete the information sheet and follow protocol.

The Not so Good News

If you have travelled overseas – or have been in contact with someone who has -in the last 14 days, we ask that you either cancel or postpone your travel for a future date.

If you feel at all unwell, please stay safe and stay at home.

If you feel unwell during your stay with us, you must inform us immediately and self-isolate until medical authorities are notified for COVID testing. 

NO CASH WILL BE TAKEN at our office. If you wish to pay in cash, you MUST pay into our bank account by direct deposit or internet transfer. Our bank details are on the confirmation sent to you. If you do not have this, please contact us for the details.

What we are doing to ensure a safe environment during your stay

We have been taking measures for extra sanitising of lift areas, door handles, handrails, reception counter and other common areas surfaces. These processes will continue at regular intervals daily.

New soap dispensers have been added in the BBQ and pool toilet areas and the sauna has been closed.  Extra safety measures have also been taken in the gym with the provision of sanitisers and contact tracing.

Keys will be sanitised after each check-out and any in house compendiums are sanitised after each stay.

All housekeeping staff have also been given further hospital-grade antibacterial products and implemented additional cleaning procedures on top of our high standard of cleaning already in place. In addition to the normal practice of full bed linen changes (sheets and pillowslips) after each departure, we are taken further steps in laundering blankets, pillow protectors and bed covers.

We are also taking further steps in examining details of Guests’ place of residence and their recent whereabouts. If they are not Queensland residents and are not able to comply with the Qld Government entry conditions into our state, we will not allow check-in at The Bay. If you are from interstate or overseas and cannot comply, please postpone or cancel your trip. We are also requiring all Guests, regardless of place of residence, to complete a declaration and answer Contact Tracing questions prior to check-in

Our Reception hours are now 9-4pm week days but we do ask that you contact us if you are arriving on a weekend as these are still a little changeable. We are always be contactable via phone or email at times outside of these hours. If you would prefer a contactless check in, we can also arrange this.
